Employees who understand and appreciate
their employee benefits will evaluate other job positions on an “apples-to-apples”
basis (factoring in the value of all benefits, not just “take-home”
pay). An informed workforce is the most effective defense against
employee turnover.

Employee benefit statements are frequently
used to encourage increased participation in 401(K) and other qualified
retirement plans. FSA’s, HSA’s and other new programs
will need to be well communicated in order to generate participation
in these benefits. Good human resource information creates good participation!
